SmartDockAI Smart Visual Docking Guidance System (SVDGS)
SmartDockAI is a next-generation Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS). It uses multiple sensors, including LIDAR and thermal, to identify aircraft and guide them to the stand safely, eliminating the need for marshals. The system can detect dangers to the docking process such as collisions with objects in the aircraft path or adjacent aircraft. The system is equipped with Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Machine Learning(ML) technology developed indigenously by M/s Inxee to identify aircraft types, such as distinguishing between an A320 and an A350, which is critical for operational safety. At Kolkata’s NSCBI Airport, SmartDockAI SVDGS has been successfully docked a variety of aircraft, including the A320, A321, A319, A20N, A21N, B737-800, B737-800 Max, and B738. Larger aircraft have also undergone successful testing, including the A330, A350, B747, B777, and B787-800. This advanced technology improves pilots’ situational awareness and accuracy during the docking process by using a combination of sensors, cameras, and sophisticated AI-based software algorithms to give them real-time assistance, feedback, and visualization. The SVDGS also prevents operational hazards, such as docking an unscheduled aircraft.
SmartDockAI SVDGS monitors events like chocks-on and chocks-off, as well as the engagement and disengagement of passenger boarding bridges (PBB). Enhancing overall safety by automating and streamlining docking operations is the role of SVDGS. The system supports obstacle identification in the aircraft path to abort the docking process. With it’s long aircraft detection and guidance range, powerful true colour outdoor LED pilot display supporting multiple sizes as per the need of the parking stand, the SmartDockAI SVDGS offers unparalleled performance while enabling automation of aircraft scheduling, docking and billing operations for airports. SVDGS supports LIDAR based Chocks On/Off and PBB engaged/disengaged detection capabilities thereby providing extremely accurate status of the airside operations.
